I’m Off the MOYD List

Sad, but it’s true.  I’m off the MOYD list.  It stands for Master Of Your Domain.  It’s a list for people who practice every single day of the year.  I forgot to practice last Saturday until it was 11:30 at night.  We had company and I didn’t want to wake them up.  I’m going to pretend I’m still on the list.  I was practicing every day and it was really helping me to make great changes.  For any of you that are interested in being on the MOYD list, leave a comment and I’ll add you to my list.  The original list is on piano forums.  The deal is that if you forget to practice, you have to log back on and let us know you didn’t do it.  It’s all on the honor system and it’s strange that that’s enough to motivate us to practice.  I think it’s the fear of telling everyone we didn’t do it.  Something about being accountable to someone for your actions.

I’m thinking of starting a list like this for people to accomplish anything, not just practicing.  So, set a goal for yourself that you’re going to do something every single day and tell us what it is.  If you forget to do it, you have to come back and let us know you didn’t do it.

I would Love more information (I’ll google it too) — what a GREAT thing… for those of us who need that external motivation. I’m going to use if for my chorus music and my quartet music. Very cool and thank you for mentioning it.
