Learn to Sing Harmony

If I could tell aspiring singers one thing, I would tell them to learn to sing harmony.  It’s a little tricky at first, but invaluable as a performer.  Singing harmony is something that needs to be practiced a lot.  It takes time to learn how to read musical notes and to sing harmony.

I have posted an article about how I learned to sing harmony.  There are many other similar articles online.  Even though you’re not in the spotlight when you’re singing harmony, you will be (in a bad way) if you do it incorrectly.  You can find local musicians that will help you and you can practice with any local choir.  Try and find some sheet music with harmony written in and plunk it out on the piano.  Learn the harmony every time you learn the melody.  If you take the time to do it it will help you be a better musician.
