Learn Harmony

When you learn harmony, singing with others can be so much fun. In fact, you may not ever want to sing alone again.

The other day, I was singing in church for our Christmas program.  I was sitting next to a girl that used to be in my choir at school. We had a great time switching off singing soprano and alto.  I would sing soprano and she would sing alto.  Then, we would switch and I would sing alto and she would sing soprano.  It was a lot of fun and it sounded really nice.  We even sight read some songs that way, and it was cool.

Later, there was a men’s quartet that sang and it was beautiful.  They had such gorgeous harmonies and it blended beautifully.  There is something about men singing harmony that really melts my heart.  I could have listened to that all day.

So, if there’s something I could tell you, it is to learn to sing harmony.  It will help you have more fun as a singer and be able to connect with other singers in a fun way.
