I’ve been so busy trying to get my computer working, I haven’t been able to keep up on my blogs. Sorry about that. I’ll attempt to catch you up on what we’re doing.
This month, our church choir sang for the Easter program. We have a fantastic choir director who is leaving to go live in a nearby town. I’m very sad that she’s leaving. I’ve grown to love and admire her. She’s so talented and fun to be with. I hope she has a great time at her new house.
Opera Theatre has started rehearsing, so that’s taking up my Tuesday nights. This year, I am playing the part of Martha Muldoon, a washed up actress who has seen better days. It’s kind of a fun change from the wicked stepmother part that I usually get. Although that part was fun, it’s becoming a little too real with my teenage stepdaughter who has a different reason to hate me each and every day. I needed a break from that role. It’s refreshing to be someone who’s just funny.
Kim and I are planning on singing June 5th for the Friday Night Express in Caldwell. We’re also going to be doing a few opening numbers for the Opera Theatre starting in June.
The high school and middle school choirs are singing in a couple weeks and I’ll be rehearsing with them a few times a week until then. That should be a fun recital. There’s also a number I’ll be playing with the jazz band. I’m so glad that our music teacher, Brian Parent decided to stay. He’s so talented. He’s doing such a great job with the music program. It’s sad that they’re losing the band next year, but there wasn’t enough interest in it. He sure made those 7 kids sound good.
